Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant’s fifth solo endeavor, “Manic Nirvana,” is unequivocally his best. His last album, 1988’s “Now and Zen,” found the caterwauling singer exploring beyond his old band’s terrain. With this collection, Plant has perfected his new approach.
The first half is better than the second, but this LP of brisk rockers dazzles.
