Director Michael Mann takes a crack at historical spectacle with the old-fashioned frontier piece “The Last of the Mohicans.” Daniel Day Lewis is a Mohican-raised white man romancing Englander Madeleine Stowe during the French-English conflict of the 1700s.
Beautifully produced and photographed, this film is a visual delight. But the script is deficient in character development and storytelling. Rated R.
