Featured in TIR Episode 342: Charles Clark, an original member of the 1970s soul vocal act, The Floaters! The Detroit-based quintet had one of the biggest worldwide hits of the late 1970s with the dreamy, seductive and super fun “Float On” – all nearly 12 minutes of it! The group released four albums in all, had another hit with “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,” and performed extensively.
Last year, Charles Clark revived The Floaters with three new members, and has released a classic-sounding remake called, “I’m So Glad I Took My Time.” Others he’s worked with thru the years include C.J. & Co., Dennis Coffey and Heavy D. & The Boyz.
