Featured in TIR Episode 261 (2 parts): Recording engineer and producer Gary Platt. Beginning in the late 1970s at Cincinnati’s Fifth Floor Recording Studios, he worked with some of funk’s top artists, including Bootsy Collins, the Ohio Players, Junie Morrison, Midnight Star, Dayton, Sun and Slave.
He went on to handle sessions for Spyro Gyra, Bon Jovi, Rick Wakeman, Erick Sermon, New Edition, Shaquille O’Neal and others. Plus, he shares an amazing story about recording Prince and Sheila E back in 1983.
