Featured in TIR Episode 109 (2 parts): One of the legends of rap and hip hop, Kool Moe Dee. Starting out in the late 1970s and having first achieved notoriety in the early 1980s as a member of the Treacherous Three, he later scored major success as a solo artist.

Beginning in the late 1980s, he notched three straight hit albums that included classic tracks such as “Wild, Wild West,” “Go See the Doctor,” “How Ya Like Me Now?”, “They Want Money” and “I Go to Work.”

One of his key collaborators was a teenaged Teddy Riley, who would become the New Jack Swing King. Moe also lent his authoritative rapping skills to projects by Quincy Jones and The Isley Brothers, among others. Here he recounts it all and paints a picture of the entire rap evolution as a genre.
