Starting at a very young age, by the early 1980s he was off and running as one of the top session and stage drummers in the business. Ranging from hip hop to R&B to jazz, Bell’s credits include Don Blackman, the Force MD’s, Johnny Kemp, Chaka Khan, Noel Pointer, Kirk Whalum, Erykah Badu, Vanessa Williams, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and a longtime recording relationship with Marcus Miller.
In addition to that, since the 2004 he has released 6 albums of his own and is presently working on another due for release in early 2020. If you like the jazz-funk of acts like The Crusaders, Grover Washington Jr., Lenny White and The Jeff Lorber Fusion, you’ll love Poogie Bell’s music.
