Featured in TIR Episode 219 (Parts 1-2): R&B vocalist and entertainer Mashelle Clark White, best known as Shelly Clark and as a member of the popular early 1970s singing trio Honey Cone. Signed to Motown legends Holland-Dozier-Holland’s Hot Wax label, the group released four albums and had nine top 40 R&B hits. The crowning achievement of their highly infectious, funky soul was the song, “Want Ads,” which topped both the pop and R&B charts in 1971.
